Mrs. Jane Swan is the 2016 founding Chief Executive Officer of Reach Cyber Charter School. Mrs. Swan leads a growing team of 786 administrators, educators and staff who serve 7,200 students across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in Kindergarten to12th grade. Jane notes that the excellent staff and care filled culture; integration of STEM, Careers, Gifted education and multiple schedule options provides PA students with a unique charter experience! Mrs. Swan is also serving her second term on the Special Education Advisory Panel (SEAP) for the state, appointed by the Governor, as a Representative for Charter Schools.

Previously, Jane served as a Director and High School Principal for nearly eight years at another PA cyber school and as an English teacher and department chair in brick-and-mortar schools for nine years. Additionally, Mrs. Swan has worked as a Coordinator for Parent Networks, Advocate for people with disabilities, and Coordinator of AmeriCorps and Physician Education programs at Temple University's Institute on Disabilities.

Mrs. Swan's other honors include Wal-Mart & Sam's Club Teacher of the Year; Who's Who Among America's Teachers, and Keystone Technology Integrator.

Mrs. Ritchie's has been in education for over 30 years, with over a decade of that time spent in cyber education. LeeAnn's career started as a middle school and high school teacher of English in brick and mortar schools. Once she completed her master's degree, curriculum/instruction and principal certificates, she moved into school administration in brick and mortar and in cyber education. She served as a High School Principal, Middle School Principal, Elementary Principal, director of curriculum, lead principal and, currently, chief academic officer. LeeAnn has also been an adjunct college professor for 20 years. In her spare time, she takes piano lessons, is learning to quilt, and spends time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Her favorite place to be is on a beach anywhere.

Rachel started her career in cyber education in 2003 as an elementary teacher and spent the next 8 years holding various positions including state testing coordinator and teacher leader. In 2011, she started working for an education management company and had the pleasure of supporting cyber schools across the United States. It was as wonderful experience that took her several states.

In 2015-2016, Rachel had the honor of assisting Reach obtain it's charter with the Department of Education and then officially joined the Reach staff at the end of 2018 as their Director of Family Services. Over the years, she has enjoyed working with both the Family Mentor and Intervention Specialist Teams. Now, she supports the operational side of the school; including the Data, Enrollment, and Technology Teams.

Outside of Reach, she stays busy with her husband, 3 children and 2 cats.

Karen started her career as an auditor with the public accounting firm KPMG. She spent 6 years at KPMG auditing governments, non-profits, and school districts. She then spent 5 years as the Business Manager at Cumberland Perry Area Vocational Technical School. After taking a 14 year hiatus to raise her two daughters, she came to Reach in 2017 as the Business Manager, and now serves as the Chief Finance Officer. Karen and her husband Bob are both Penn State alumni and enjoy making regular trips to Happy Valley during the football season. Karen and Bob are extremely proud of their 2 daughters; their older daughter is studying Actuarial Science at Penn State University Park, and their younger daughter studies Accounting and plays Field Hockey at Penn State Harrisburg. Her family enjoys vacationing in the Poconos and in the Outer Banks, North Carolina.

Alicia joined Reach Cyber Charter School in September 2017. She worked in the elementary school teaching fifth grade specializing in Science and Math. She then served as a High School Assistant Principal before being promoted as the Middle School Principal. Before working at Reach, Alicia was both the Educational Director of a Preschool with a PDE licensed Kindergarten program and an elementary teacher in both public and charter settings. She created the High School Assemblies initiative and took the lead role in our High School Graduation ceremony. Alicia loves connecting with families, STEM education, and being the voice of our Facebook Live events!

As the Director of Outreach, Brandie is responsible for establishing and maintaining outreach partnerships critical to the school's success. As the Director of Outreach she oversees the school's outreach efforts to achieve goals that align with the school's mission by advancing and leading the implementation of a wide range of outreach initiatives such as school events, educational materials, programs, demonstration projects, and collaborations.

An advocate for the expansion of access to great public schools in high need communities, Brandie previously served as the Director of Operations and Development for the Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools. During her tenure, Brandie successfully managed the application and execution of the Expanding Opportunities Through Quality Charter School Programs Grant (commonly referred to as a CSP Grant) from the US Department of Education. This $30 million grant awarded in September 2020, will support the development, expansion, and replication of 18 high-quality public schools in Pennsylvania over the course of five years.

Cody began working at Reach Cyber Charter School during the 2016-2017 school year after 5 years of teaching Middle School Social Studies at another cyber charter School. He has held various roles at Reach including 8th grade Social Studies teacher, department chair, instructional coach, assistant principal and now High School Principal where he has served since the 2022-23 school year.

Outside of Reach, Cody enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and two sons, Isaiah and Mason. Amy and Cody enjoy running together and have a goal of running at least a half marathon in every state. They are nearing the half way point of accomplishing this goal.

Devin came to Reach as a high school/middle school assistant principal in 2019, and took over his role as Elementary Principal in November 2020. Before coming to Reach Devin taught Sociology at another cyber charter school since 2013 and also spent a few years teaching at a brick and mortar charter school. His road to education was a bit longer than usual as he started his education going to school for environmental engineering. It wasn't until he was coaching football that the head coach pointed him into the direction of education and he hasn't looked back since.

In his free time he loves to cook and for a time owned a family run food truck with his wife. He now spends most of his time outside of school coaching his boys in baseball and football and going fishing whenever he gets the chance.

Mr. McCurdy has been employed at Reach Cyber Charter School since August of 2018 and has been in the field of special education for over 25 years. Mr. McCurdy's education journey began in an urban school district outside of Pittsburgh where he worked as a high school learning support teacher. Following that he returned to the Central Pennsylvania Area and continued working with school-aged students with disabilities within a county correctional facility. Mr. McCurdy then became a cyber school coordinator before becoming a supervisor of special education. He served in that position for 15 years. Mr. McCurdy has a vast background within the field of special education and special education programming such as, Emotional Support, Learning Support, Autism Support, Multiple Disability Support, and Alternative Education to name a few. He believes learning is a lifelong endeavor and reads articles and attends workshops whenever possible. Mr. McCurdy holds certifications as a Reading Specialist, Elementary and Special Education Teacher and a Special Education Supervisory Certificate. Mr. McCurdy is passionate about inclusion and ensuring families feel welcomed and valued within the special education process.

JD started his educational journey as a social worker in the city of Philadelphia working in a group home and later in foster care. This work lead him to pursue his professional teaching certification. He spent two years in brick-and-mortar before moving to cyber education and continues to build on his thirteen year career at Reach. He oversees our growing Career Readiness Department that serves all Reach students K-12 and includes Career Readiness Teachers, a K-8 Career Exploration Coordinator and Career Experience Managers and Coordinators. JD also oversees an innovative team of teachers that coordinate vocational programs in carpentry, veterinary sciences and cosmetology with more to come in the future.

Dr. Kelley McConnell serves as the Director of Data and Assessment for Reach Cyber Charter School. Dr. McConnell promotes school-wide data driven decision making and leads school improvement initiatives. She has been working in virtual education for over 10 years and previously worked as an English and Science teacher. Dr. McConnell completed her Ph.D. in 2019 from Marywood University where she conducted research on teacher perception of student socialization in the virtual school environment. She is an excellent baker, a bibliophile, a dog lover, and a mom to two energetic boys.

Kim Crandall is excited to join Reach as the new Director of MTSS. With over 25 years experience in education, Kim has a strong background in public schools, both in-person and online, including administration, instruction, assessment, and intervention.

In the past, Kim has served as a secondary English teacher, high school instructional coordinator, and as a principal for nine years both in the Commonwealth of Virginia and Pennsylvania. For the past three years, she served as middle school principal at PA Distance Learning Charter School. She was also a CSI facilitator for PDE, and in 2014, she received the Master in the Middle Educator of the Year award from the Virginia Middle School Association.

Kim holds a bachelor of arts in English and Secondary Education from Anderson University in Indiana and a master's degree in Women's Studies from Harvard University, along with having completed her principal course work at George Mason University in Virginia. She is passionate about high quality instruction, using student data to guide instruction and intervention, and is dedicated to enhancing student success and engagement in all subjects.

Outside of work, Kim enjoys hiking with her dog, bike riding with her husband, spending time with her 26 year old son, and going to Pirates games, which help her stay balanced and energized. She is looking forward to collaborating with the Reach team and contributing to the success of all students.

Mr. Garman joined Reach Cyber Charter School as the Director of Human Resources (HR) on September 13, 2021. He is a certified HR professional with more than twenty years' experience in public service organizations.

Prior to joining Reach Cyber Charter School, he served as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) from 2011 to 2021 leading the HR team and the agency's facilities, mail services, and physical security operations.

Additionally, Mr. Garman served in a variety of HR positions in several Commonwealth of Pennsylvania agencies that includes the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Governor's Office of Administration, Department of Revenue, and Department of Public Welfare. From 1999 to 2020, he served as an instructor for the Pennsylvania State University where he taught human resources and management courses.

Mr. Garman is a veteran of the US Army having retired as a Command Sergeant Major.

Stephanie joined the Reach Cyber Charter School community in August 2018, with 16 years of experience in both public and private school settings. A decade of that time was spent in the Executive Director role of a licensed preschool, leading a team of early childhood educators. That experience truly ignited her passion for educational leadership! During her time at Reach, Stephanie has served as an elementary teacher, a STEM instructional coach and the Assistant Principal of STEM Education before being promoted to her current director role.

A Philadelphia native, Stephanie now resides in Chester County with her husband, 3 children and 3 family rescue dogs. She enjoys staying active in her community through various volunteer opportunities and supporting local youth sporting events in her area.
